OpenCall – Landscape Photobook Essay

Overview

I am a recent Photography graduatefrom the University of Salford.

I have spent the past year creating Flags, a body of work that explores ourrelationship with the landscape, drawing from personal experience to refinesuch a vast subject into a cohesive series of photographs. I finalised the bodyof work for my final degree show in June 2018, where I presented the work as ahand-made dummy book. I am taking this body of work to the next stage, aimingto publish it in the near future (roughly 2018-2019).

Initially the only foreword I had included in thedummy book was a short piece of text that simply outlined the vastpossibilities of the landscape, considering both positive and negative interpretations.Yet I think there is the potential for a much larger text within the book.

I want to use this photobook as a platform to promotecollaboration and share the chance of getting work out into the world.
